Since submerging myself in the Fitness realm many years ago, I have since taken a serious interest in helping people realize their full potential. It started with personal training but after seeing many people come up short of realizing their goals, I started to look inward at people’s lifestyle habits and quality of life. This is where I found that the majority of people had numerous nutritional issues and because of it, most were suffering.

Nearly four years ago, I worked as a Nutritionist/Diet Coach for a medical weight loss / Anti-Aging Clinic helping patients fix hormonal imbalances and lose weight with the aid of a team of doctors and (unfortunately) many times with pharmaceuticals.

In my years of learning on how to help patients I have always had a basic approach to health, nutrition and wellness. I strongly believe that a person’s wellness is founded on educating others about how to best care for themselves on a daily basis by eating real, unprocessed foods and incorporating the proper exercise into their daily routines. I really try to focus on what foods are optimal for each person’s body and mind, and by providing the ideas and sparks that are needed at times when creating a new and healthy lifestyle that can be maintained.

What were you doing before you started counting macros?

I had been cooking my meals for years and because of the weekly cooking routine, I slowly believed that I had the grasp and understanding of how many grams of protein, carbs and fats were in the ingredients that I was using. However, after years of following the same routine my eye ball method started to have some pitfalls and it wasn’t until I did actually start tracking my macros and calorie intake that I saw that many of my food intake days were not where they should have been.

How has flexible dieting changed your life?

It has made me much more accountable in terms of staying on a plan and knowing (not guessing) what I am eating is contributing or detracting from my personal goals.

What got you involved in the nutrition world and why did you become a coach?

I have always been into fitness and cooked/prepped my meals and I have always had a desire to learn how the body works and what fuels it in the right ways, but it wasn’t until I was able to positively impact people’s lives by helping them be more healthy that I realized that this was my calling.

What is it you love most about helping people?

Seeing their faces when they finally see results after usually years of being unable to do it on their own.

Best success story from client relationship:

I helped an entire family with a daughter who had a history of binge eating finally come together and make eating healthy a family-wide priority. The family went from eating out 4-5 times a week and never grocery shopping to eventually making Sunday the weekly food preparation day and not eating out at all. They also went from rarely ever setting a foot in the grocery store to actually buying organic and free range foods because they finally saw the importance of fueling the body with what it needs to heal itself.

How do you motivate and inspire people?

I try to lead by example and break the mold when it comes to age and physical restrictions. I am a firm believer that a person can do almost anything if they put their mind to it and often times all it requires is a little nudge and a small positive result before they see it themselves and are hooked on the process.
