Macro Nutrition Coaching Online or in Billings, MT

I’m a lot like you – I’ve struggled to find balance with food, hormones, and training my entire life. Through high school and college I suffered from an eating disorder and exercise addiction which led to hypothyroidism and irregular menses all in the name of fitting society’s mold of what it meant to be worthy. And although I never wish that struggle upon anyone, overcoming these struggles has given me the unique experience and insight to help you in your own battle against your inner demons.

Not only will we work on your nutritional habits, but we will  also problem solve any hormonal, lifestyle, and mental road-blocks you may be facing.

A little about me as a coach: My personal experience in overcoming mindset, hormonal, and behavior issues, along with my scientific background in Chemical and Biological Engineering gives me a unique perspective when coaching. Not only do I understand the principles of metabolism at a cellular level, but I show you how to take advantage of them through simple, yet effective daily actions. My own journey with nutrition has evolved into a passionate coaching career that I can’t wait to share it with you!

What were you doing before you started counting macros?

When I first started Crossfit in 2015 I was following a low-carb diet. I didn’t confine myself as a Paleo or Atkins dieter, rather I focused on keeping carbs below 70g per day [gasp]. As a beginner lifter with an endurance background, I wasn’t lifting heavy so my performance wasn’t impacted quite like you would expect. However, as months went by and I began lifting heavier, I noticed I wasn’t recovering, I wasn’t gaining strength, and I was just plain tired and fatigued. Not to mention, my body composition was bloated and puffy – far from that of a lean, high-performing athlete.

How has flexible dieting changed your life?

Driven mainly by performance and aesthetic goals, I knew I was in need of a better nutrition plan and lifestyle. [Enter flexible dieting]. From day one I was hooked! Not only did this new way of eating take my performance and body composition to new heights, but it transformed the way I thought about and treated food. For the first time I was eating an adequate amount of carbs for the intensity and duration of my training, for the first time my legs didn’t feel like cement blocks walking up the stairs, for the first time I was sleeping through the entire night, and for the first time I discovered a balanced relationship with food and my body.

After adopting flexible dieting, I never felt the need to restrict foods, macronutrients, or calories – my body had everything it needed to perform, recover, and make adaptations. My CrossFit performance shot through the roof – I got stronger, leaner, and more athletic, all by consistently adhering to my macros. It made the difference between dreaming of being a CrossFit competitor to actually being one!

What got you involved in the nutrition world and why did you become a coach?

Since starting Crossfit along with Flexible dieting I have witnessed an incredible transformation in both my body and my overall mindset. I have gained a new confidence in myself that would have never been possible without this lifestyle shift. When I first began, I had trouble making it through a 20 min workout, now I am training 3 hours per day and have the ability to recover from every session. It just goes to show that you can achieve anything when you put your mind to it, but first you need to understand the rules of the game. Flexible dieting has been the most effective teacher of these rules and I want nothing more than to pass them on to you!

What is it you love most about helping people?

Having the opportunity to work with you as a coach is an honor. Knowing that I contributed a small part to help you achieve your goal or reach a new PR you never thought possible makes it all so worthwhile. Since becoming a coach, I’ve never stopped learning whether it is improving quality of life through nutrition and recovery or helping to improve your relationship with your body and food, there is so much to learn and absorb as a coach – another reason I find this job so fulfilling! Working with people like you on a one-on-one basis to overcome your most limiting nutrition and mindset barriers, is the most rewarding experience I have ever had.

Best success story from client relationship:

I absolutely love working with athletes who strive to be the best version of themselves. To be an athlete, you don’t have to be “elite” you’ve just have to have a body, a form of exercise you love, and the desire to get better at it. Often times people think their goals are merely physical, but in reality a major mindset shift must occur first before they can reach the next level. When I can help a person break free from the harsh limitations they place on themselves and disassociate their self-worth from their body image, that’s when the magic happens – that’s when the transformations really take place – that’s when people break free from their barriers and achieve success – and to me that makes my job worth every second!

How do you motivate and inspire people?

I believe everyone has the ability within them to succeed in whatever it is they want, but with the help of a coach to guide them and keep them accountable, the sky is truly the limit! As a nutrition coach I help people understand that success in anything requires more than just a fleeting spurt of motivation. Rather, success is a result of unending grit and persistence in spite of all the setbacks. Through my daily actions and relentless discipline, I am able to provide the example people need in order to pursue and achieve their epic goals in nutrition, performance, and aesthetics. I also know that staying “real” with you by having the tough conversations can have a major impact on how quickly you will achieve your goals.Your goal is my goal and I will always go great lengths to make it work for you!
